TRAVEL
Airport
Manchester Airport is a major international airport around eight miles south of the city. It is the third busiest airport in Britain after Gatwick and Heathrow, handling tens of millions of passengers each year with direct flights all over the world.
Manchester airport is a 15 minutes taxi/Uber from the Armitage sports and accommodation campus, costing approx. £15-£25 for 4 people.
For alternative airports, please consider:
1) Liverpool or Leeds (1 hour)
2) Birmingham or East Midlands (2 hours)
3) Luton, Heathrow or Newcastle (3-4 hours)
Train
Manchester Piccadilly is connected to most of the UK. Other options are Stockport or Manchester Victoria
Bus
Bus is the easiest, cheapest and quickest way to move from the City Centre or Train station to the Armitage Campus
Oxford Road is one long straight road from the City Centre directly to the campus. It will cost around £2 and take 15-20 minutes, although that depends on traffic as Oxford Road is apparently the busiest bus route in Europe.
